During the holidays I had the honour of providing an art class for a very special little girl whose family life is very sad. Her carer is gravely ill, and her brother suffers from so many physical and mental limitations that to be a little girl in her life right now — is out of the question. The future looks not so great. She enjoyed every mortsal of skill and technique I was willing to give her. During her short visit with us, she managed to introduce herself to everyone, talk with everyone, give them a compliment about their art work, and was even picking up my stress and asked if I was ‘ok’. A young girl with a big heart, a little pearl. She was not worried if she was going to be accepted by the others, she was not afraid what her art would look like, and she was not afraid of what others might think. She was not self conscious, or pretentious. She was who she was.
Looking into my eyes, with one hand on my arm, she thanked me for the Art Class with these words: ‘I had a really nice time today, thank you for giving me your time, and showing me how to paint. I loved every minute. I wish I could come every week.’ I responded by giving her a big hug, and saying ‘It was a pleasure’. Her ‘thank you’ impacted me, and made me wonder how a little girl with so LITTLE in her life, can GIVE so much with what she has….it was her way of loving. It made me realise that without our material wealth, our designer clothing, our creature comforts we can only be who we really are by what we can give from the INSIDE. And isn’t that enough?
When we realise this truth, we will not be worried about what others think about us, and we will be brave enough to do anything without the fear. Exploring the Art of Gratitude is a fair dinkum way to transform your fears to positive thoughts and to become more relaxed about life. I would like to share with you my top three tips for opening your heart’s desire. You don’t have to believe it will work, just be willing to try it out and give a go.
The first thing you do before you start the top 3 tips is go buy yourself a little note book, a pen, and cover the book with paper or pictures that really mean a lot to you, and what you really want. For exampleyou want confidence, right? Then stick on pictures that look like people who have confidence….get the drift? Continue until you have covered the whole book. This should be fun by the way! Then I want you to select an essential oil ( if you have one) as that will help embed the feelings and thoughts in your remembering.An example of a great essential oil is Wild Orange by Doterra. Here are 3 TOP tips in the Art of Gratitude, and watch your life improve.
- Every morning is best to do this next exercise as it starts your day, however our busy lives stop this, so find a time when you are going to alone, focused, relaxed. Now open your book, date the page, and now write 10 things you are grateful for starting with ‘ I am grateful for…….’. You write the ‘I am grateful for once.
- Next step, think of 2 people in your life that you are estranged from for whatever reason. These people can be passed away or alive. Now just picture them in your mind and and focus on your heart area, and imagine sending them a pink beam of light, send them love, send them love, send them love. You may feel some resistance doing this exercise. That is ok. Just focus on sending love.
- Sit quietly and now ask your Higher Self for guidance for the day. If you have a problem you wish resolved here is a great tip. I call it the ‘Body Scan’. Here’s how you do this: as you are relaxed and sitting quietly, close your eyes, and imagine you are in a space of white- there is nothing except white in the space around you. Then ask your Higher Self a question – imagine your eyes travelling down to your base chakra ( where the base of your spine is) and bringing up the solutions to your problems. Burrow down and bring them up to your head. Now move your eyes from side to side, eyes still closed as if you are a computer downloading information. Do this until your eyes get tired. When you stop ask your Higher Self to find a solution to your problem, or to show you the next best step.Leave it there and go about your day. Use your essential oil to remind you and help you achieve what it is you want.
Now what is crucial here is CONSISTENCY. Do it daily. Doing this once is setting yourself up for failure.
With consistencyt notice how things will fall smoothly into place. In doing so, you will create ‘‘an allowing’’ into your life, and trust your Higher Self to find the outcome. I know this works because I have tried it several times.
